Acne Blemish Myths and Truths
Post By : Mary Crowley, ISKA
No one is immune to the occasional acne blemish. Acne is an unpleasant fact, but the way you treat the blemish when it occurs will make a big difference in how long the blemish is apparent. Blemishes caused by acne can be very traumatic for the sufferer. You may not be able to prevent acne blemish issues completely, but you can take some steps to hurry the blemish on its way into clear skin.
Skin Care
You may not be able to prevent acne breakouts from happening 100% of the time, but you can help to reduce acne blemishes. Start with a good skin care routine, preferably one that cleans the skin without irritating too much. When the acne blemish does appear, treat the acne while continuing your usual skin care routine. To stop will only make breakouts more likely.
Dealing with a Pimple
Some people swear by the Zeno acne-clearing device. This kills the bacteria using heat. It requires disposable tips which can make it somewhat expensive. However, some people dont get any results from the zeno acne clearing device.
Acne Light Pens
Some people use a similar pen based product that uses certain frequencies of red and blue light. The red light helps kill the acne causing bacteria while the red light helps with the healing process. Again, some swear by it and some swear about it
When dealing with acne the most important tip i can give is, fight the urge to pop the acne blemish before it is fully ready. (I.e the pimple head is visible.). Vigorous washing or applying harsh medication could only irritate the blemish further.
